Why do HDR colors look bad or washed out?
- Make sure your display supports HDR.
- Go into Settings > System > Display and select the appropriate display in the Rearrange your displays section.
- Make sure Use HDR is turned on in the Windows HD Color section.
- Check your GPU driver settings and make sure output color depth is set to 10/12-bit.
- For Nvidia GPU open Nvidia Control Panel, select Change resolution tab and check Output color depth.
- For AMD GPU open AMD Radeon Software, select Display tab and check Color Depth.
- If only 8-bit is available for output color depth, your system does not support HDR correctly and colors may be distorted.
- For Nvidia GPU open Nvidia Control Panel, select Change resolution tab and check Output color depth.
- Make sure that in the settings of the display itself HDR is also turned on and/or set correctly. It is best to use the display manual, where it should be described how to enable HDR. Depending on the display model:
- Enter the OSD settings.
- Go to Picture/Image/Color Adjusment/Color Mode settings.
- Turn on HDR mode.
